Elevators and Vertical Platform Lifts (VPL’s) are typically used when transporting a person who is wheelchair bound or unable to safely ascend or descend steps. Often, VPL’s are used outside in lieu of a long ramp, or when landscaping or structural confines limit the amount of space that can be committed to a ramp system. A VPL is simply an open elevator and can be used in or outside the home.
